ALL ABOUT ACE in AUDERGHEM, BRUSSELS!

Writer: ACE of BRUSSELSACE of BRUSSELS

Hello,

My name is Mrs Jackie Daire and I am the Head of Schools at ACE of BRUSSELS. ACE is a family of facilities which consists of ACE of BRUSSELS SCHOOL for children aged 3 - 19 years old based in the gorgeous, leafy commune of Auderghem, ACE ASCEND - our online school for any age and I mean any age! - and our ACE EXAM CENTRE, where students from both schools, as well as external students, can sit their Cambridge International exams.

I thought I would start this blog so that I can tell you about our wonderful ACE family.

The philosophy of ACE is quite simple - everyone is different and everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve their goals. For this you need flexibility; the ability to adapt the teaching to fit your child's needs, not the other way around. On top of this children need to feel safe and secure, they must trust their teacher and they must develop a supreme love of learning.

Our youngest children, aged between 3 - 4 years old for ACE START, and our slightly older children, aged 5 - 11years old, are housed in our beautiful château and our senior students, aged between 11 - 19 years old, they have their own building at the far end of our grounds. I am not sure that our children realise how lucky they are to be in such stunning surroundings, where wild life coming into our garden is a daily occurrence and having marble walls is standard!

This arrangement is what gives us the flexibility that children need. We integrate online learning with in-house learning, we use the Cambridge International Curriculum, the most flexible and highly respected curriculum you can imagine, and we only have highly qualified and experienced teachers to do this.

Having this flexibility is one thing but the only way our teachers can apply this flexibility is by knowing your children. They know their interests, their characters, their strengths. This is how they are able to create a curriculum to suit each individual child.

My plan, over the coming weeks, is to write a blog about various aspects of our school so that you can get to know us. I will not only tell you about how we work but I will share some anecdotes with you from our daily school lives. There is never a dull moment when you work with children. Add our school support dog, Bonkers, into that and laughter is a powerful element of our school life.

Of course, the best way to know us is to visit our school and we always love to receive visitors. Fill in this form here or contact us at info@aceofbrussels.com and we will arrange a time for you to come in. I look forward to meeting you.

I thought I would write my next blog about our youngest pupils in ACE START and that will be published, hopefully on Thursday. I look forward to seeing you then!

Bye for now.

From Mrs Daire
