BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE TO SCHOOL
Computing has the two-fold aim of helping pupils understand how computers work, and ensuring that they are equipped with the strong computer skills needed in almost every discipline.
Computer Science aims to develop problem-solving and logical thinking skills, as well as a love of the subject for its own sake. A major component of our original and forward-looking programme of study is computer programming, where pupils have to organise their thoughts in a formal, unambiguous and structured way; Computer Science effectively promotes thinking about thinking.
The aim of digital literacy is to impart the skills needed to survive in the information age. Pupils receive a foundation in the operation of the most widely-used software packages and computing devices. They are taught the operational fundamentals of computers and programmes, which can be transferred to future developments in technology.
Computing combines logic and creativity in problem-solving, while also enabling competence and confidence in the use of developing technologies.
