ACE introduces French from the first year of study with a focus on oral competency. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) is used in the development of the curriculum. French is utilised in our project based curriculum to ensure a wide vocabulary is acquired and developed. Native francophone students receive French instruction based on the “programme des études” from the Communauté française as well as instruction in English to ensure a development of both languages. Non-native French speakers with a more advanced knowledge of French have the option to join with francophone students in classes delivered in French.
